Sharks star Sbura Sithole, has been given the freedom by Jake White to express his natural talent and is doing so in leaps and bounds. And with that support he he has been destructive on attack but equally his defense has been just as good in the number 13 channel. Sbura chats to us from tour…
How is the tour going?
It has been great so far. It has been tough having to adjust to different time zones but I am enjoying every minute of it.
Who are you rooming with?
I was rooming with JP Pietersen but now I am rooming with Charl.
How Are you coping with your hamstring injury?
Coping very well, luckily my injury is healing very fast so just needed a week to get back to 100%
You used to play wing and now Jake White has moved you to centre. Have you played centre before, do you prefer it to wing?
Yes I have played centre before, that was in school but not after I left. Yeah, I would say I prefer it to wing because you are more involved. I really enjoy playing centre.
What has been your highlight of this year?
Highlight for me would definitely have to be my first debut against the Reds in Durban.
What has been your favourite game this season?
My favourite game would have to be the Lions game where I got Man of The Match.
What is the best part of being on tour?
I think the best thing about being on tour this year is having to tour with guys I have looked up to and who have been role models for most of my career. There is so much to learn on tour from them because we are all together all the time. It’s very cool.
What team are you looking forward to playing this year?
I am looking forward to playing all the teams. The teams that are at the top of the conference, I think is going to be a great test for the team.
