Tell us a bit about yourself?
Well um, I was born in Eastern Cape in King Williams Town, I grew up in a village just outside King. I come from a family of four. I have got one sibling, a younger sister. My hobbies are cricket, reading, gymming, dancing… almost anything athletic really. I live in Stellies now and I am a part of the Springbok 7’s squad.
When did you know that rugby was a career you wanted to pursue?
I was a keen hockey player until the age of 16. I only started taking rugby seriously when I got selected for the SA U16 high performance squad. That was the beginning of my professional rugby.
What is it like being at the 7’s?
I don’t think I could be at a better place right now, I mean first year out of school, it’s an incredible place to be to find and create myself. I absolutely love being here. 7’s is a great game.
Who do you look up to most in the team?
All the guys I’m competing with like Cecil Afrika, Branco du Plessis and Justin Gedulds. They all have their own attributes they bring to the game, so I learn from every one and learn how to better myself.
All the best for the rest of the tournament.
