Stormers and Springbok Flank, Siya The Bear Kolisi chats to us about the highlights of last year and what the fans have to look forward to this season.
How was your holiday?
Amazing, it was really good to spend time with the family and relax.
Highlight of 2015?
Going to the World Cup, having my family there with me and getting engaged. It was a fantastic year.
On a scale 1-10 how hard is preseason?
12. It is tough! The heat is hectic.
What is the mood of the team right now?
The team is feeling good. We see this new format of Super rugby as a fresh start for the DHL Stormers. We are excited to have a new coach, although Fleckie has been with us for a long time, it’s great to have him as the new coach.
What are you looking forward to this year?
Playing a full season of rugby and staying fit. I am super excited for this year.
Are you missing Eben?
Yes, I am! I can’t wait for him to come back. We chat almost every day. It’s not the same without him.
Any new projects on the go?
I am very privileged to have become involved with WildAid. A fantastic group of people fighting against the poaching of Rhinos in our beautiful continent. Check them out and see where you can help.
Does anything scare you?
I am terrified of heights. But that all changed when we went on camp to George this last week for training. We had to jump off this cliff which was huge but I did it. The whole team did it which was a great team building exercise.
