Kleyn by name but not by nature

May 16, 2014

Jean Kleyn has burst onto the scene hailing from relatively unknown Linden High School. With a Super 15 debut already under his belt, he is making his mark and is here to stay.

Jean chats to us about his exciting career rise

On a scale of 1-10 how nervous were you for your debut?

Probably a decent 7,but it was a good kind of nervous.

It was your first game back since your ankle injury, how did you feel about that?

I felt quite positive,I did a lot of hard work and rehab to the point where I was not worried about it anymore.

How did you feel you played this last weekend?

I felt like I did my job and the coaches were happy.

And how is the ankle?

It was aggravated after the game but after some rest and a lot of ice it felt better.

What part of the game to do you remember most?

I think it’s the moment when I ran out onto the field. It was an exhilarating experience.

Who is your role model in the team?

I would have to say Duane, he is a huge mentor to me. He is always full of good advice and I find him to be an extremely nice guy.
