Kevin Kaba, talented flank from the Eastern province Kings chats to us about life at the rising Kings franchise.
Which school did you attend and when did you start playing rugby?
I went to Queens College Boys High School from grade 1 to matric. I started playing rugby in grade two (when I was 8)
What has been the highlight of your rugby career?
Making my debut for the southern kings against the Stormers. It was an amazing experience, being one of the youngest guys on the field and playing against some springboks I’ve looked up to whilst growing up.
Have you always played loose forward / any other position during your rugby career?
I think it would be easier for me to name the positions I haven’t played ha ha. Three, to be exact, hooker, scrumhalf and fly half. I’ve played everywhere else at some point.
Your hobbies / how do you relax?
I like to spend my time relaxing on the couch, catching up on some sport. I enjoy playing a bit of PlayStation too.
What are you studying at the moment?
Bcom (general accounting)
What would you have done with your life if you had not chosen rugby as a career?
I would probably be a typical student, still studying accounting, attending every event and party there is on campus.
What do you consider the best part of being a professional rugby player?
Being able to please all those die hard fans that come out and support us every weekend.
